Brief Description:
Urdu Education Board, Delhi has been established by an Act XXI of 1860 of Govt. of India (Societies Registration Act). It is a Minority Educational Institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of Constitution of India for promoting Urdu education across the country. The prime objective of the Board is to extend help and support to the students of the Muslim Minority community and the weaker section of the society with the especial emphasis on girls education. Urdu Education Board is an autonomous body which is established for development of education under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986, and Programme of Action 1992, Government of India. Urdu Education Board is also recognized by Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

To promote Urdu Education across the country. To start with, the Board will run 8th Standard, Secondary and Senior Secondary level courses in Urdu, English and Hindi medium on the pattern of National Institute of Open Schooling, an autonomous body under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. To open schools and institutions all over of India and abroad for promotion of Urdu Education especially for the students of Muslim Minority Community and weaker section of the society. To affiliate School/College/Institute and NGO for successful running of Urdu Education Board courses all over India and abroad. To seek recognition/equivalency of Secondary and Senior Secondary courses of Urdu Education Board from different State Boards/Central Govt./Universities/Institutions all over India and abroad. To run the courses of Urdu Education Board on Regular and Open Schooling System all over India and abroad. To conduct public examination and evaluation of Schools/ Institutions /Madarsas
