India’s longest-running education conference is back with its 26th edition. The upcoming edition of the World Education Summit (WES) will be more action-packed in terms of knowledge sessions, exciting awards & innovative expos. WES was started in 2011 with a vision to bring innovation to the education landscape of India and today, WES has not only gained support and appreciation from top educational professionals from India but across the globe.

The upcoming edition of the World Education Summit will be held on 4-5 July 2023 at Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka, New Delhi with a more action-packed agenda, interactive discussions, networking with top officials in the education fraternity, and more.

Talking of the top officials who will be joining the summit, here we are unveiling our first set of speakers.

Know Our Speakers

Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Dr. Abhay Jere was the Chief Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education, Government of India before taking charge as Vice Chairman of AICTE. He has industrial experience of 14 years and has been with the government & administration for the last 3.5 years. He also has research experience of 8 years.

Dr (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

Dr (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal is the second women Secretary General of the Association in its 97 years of existence. She has been serving the higher education sector for more than three decades at senior positions at the University Grants Commission of India. She is the Chief Commissioner for Guides of Bharat Scouts and Guides. She is also the Member of General Assembly and Finance Committee of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi.

Prof. Abha Sharma, Principal, B.Ed., In-charge Research Cell, State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Govt. of NCT of Delhi

Professor Abha Sharma is an expert in the area of Teacher Education, Stress Management, Test and Measurement, Educational Technology and Science Education. Prof Abha is a Gold medallist in both B.Ed. and M.Ed. and a recipient of a National merit scholarship for doing M. Ed. She has more than 22 years of experience in academic and academic leadership roles in various Universities and Institutes in India. Abha holds a PhD in Education (Educational Psychology/ Educational Technology), M. Ed., M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) and MBA (HR). She has qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education and was awarded Junior Research Fellowship from UGC, (India).

Prof. Kamal Kishore Kant, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant received his PhD (Chemical Engineering) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1997. He took over the charge as the Director of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee on October 12, 2022. He is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He is also a Fellow of several national and international academies, which include the National Academy of Science India (NASI) and the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).

Dr. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur)

Dr. Mahadeo Jaiswal’s qualifications include PGPX from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA; PhD in Computer Science from Delhi University and Sr. Fulbright Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University, USA. He has been Visiting Professor at IIM Ahmedabad, University of California, USA and Rotterdam School of Management, Netherlands.
Prof. Rajat Gupta, Director, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam
A national scholarship holder and a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, prof. Rajat Gupta, 1959 born, has been a professor in the Department of mechanical engineering at NIT Silchar since 1996. Presently he is a professor (HAG) and president of IIC, NIT Silchar. In between he served as the Director of NIT Srinagar, J&K, NIT Mizoram and NIT Silchar. He has produced 14Ph. Ds and many M.Tech students. Presently six Ph.D scholars are working under him. He has published more than 200 papers in national /international journals and conferences.

Prof Atul Khosla, Founder and Vice Chancellor, Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh

Prof Atul Khosla is also a guest and visiting faculty at several Indian and Global Universities. He has done B. Tech from IIT Kanpur and MBA from JBIMS, Mumbai. He left his corporate job at Oliver Wyman 10 years ago to move to Shoolini – and pursue his dream of giving back to the community by building a world-class university.
Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Vice Chancellor, Teerthanker Mahaveer University(TMU), Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh
Dr. Singh has hands-on Experience on developing Road Maps ( Strategic Direction) for Universities and educational Institutions using Balance Score Card (BSC). He prefers to focus on the 360-degree approach to Institutional Management. His process and systems-driven approach to strategy execution assure desired results.
